Okay, I (Debbie) am a little preoccupied with the countdown until our trip. I bought a book this weekend, "Australia for Dummies". It has great tips and suggestions for novice travelers like us. I have already highlighted and dog-eared many pages! This is going to be so great! Thank you OFE and Funds for Teachers for awarding us the grant that has made our trip possible. G'day mate!
Australia's literacy rate is 99% for the nation.We are very curious as to how they achieve such a high rate of literacy. We will be exploring the National Accelerated Literacy Program that they attribute much of their success to. I am also thankful for OFE and FFT for giving us the chance to learn about such a phenominal program. Traci and I are leaving the educational sightseeing trips to Debbie to research. She has been very good at providing us options thus far!! Lisa
ReplyDeleteOnly 55 days!!! I have been preparing for our trip by driving a mail truck on the wrong side of the road through my neighborhood and drinking lots of Yellow Tail wine. Oh, and reading the occasional article about the Indigenous student population in Darwin, Australia, NT. More to come!
